Webinar:

Death, Taxes & Beyond - Getting Your Financial House in Order
June 4, 2025

It is well understood that the only areas in life that are certain are death and taxes. But that does not mean that it is easy to talk about! Preparing your financial affairs for your loved ones is very much necessary but it can be an overwhelming process. However, the benefits to organizing your finances are significant – this means getting your financial house in order before your death to make things easier for your loved ones. Let us guide you by taking it one step at a time.

In this session you will learn the basics of how to build your financial foundation. By the end of Death, Taxes and Beyond, you'll be able to:

  • Implement a 4-step plan to organize your finances and be able to quickly find the paperwork you need
  • Understand the basics of personal taxes
  • Articulate the different types of insurance
  • Define what type of insurance is important to you, your family, and your estate
  • Create an "In the Event of an Emergency" document for your family in case anything happens to you
  • Define the purpose of an executor in your will
  • Take the next step and create your own estate plan

*Disclaimer: This webinar provides general information about estate planning. Our facilitators are not licensed insurance specialists and cannot provide legal advice into any estate matters.

SPEAKER:

Mark Kalinowski

Partnership and Education Specialist

Credit Counselling Society

Mark is passionate about personal finance! His interest started after reading David Chilton's The Wealthy Barber. He went on to complete investing courses while working at the bank (CSC, IFIC) and even took the life insurance course for fun while working as a credit counsellor (LLQP). Mark has also held sales positions with companies like WD-40 Products and Whirlpool/Maytag.

Whether speaking one-on-one or addressing groups of over a thousand, people appreciate Mark's straightforward style and genuine concern for others. Despite his success as a salesman and senior lender, Mark prefers working at the Credit Counselling Society, where he doesn't sell anything but gets to help people solve financial challenges and discuss personal finance.
