International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists

Alberta Chapter

Welcome

Welcome to the website for the Alberta Chapter of the International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists (ISCEBS). Our chapter serves members and others in the employee benefits community by providing opportunities for networking, continuing education and professional growth. Chapter membership is open to individuals who have attained the CEBS, CMS, GBA or RPA designations, and to students working towards the designations. We also have pertinent information about the CEBS designation, local events and course offerings.

A Message from the President

Alberta Chapter Members,

After completing my CEBS designation in 2018 and attending my first Symposium in 2019, I was looking for ways to get involved in the ISCEBS community. I joined the AB Chapter Board in 2023 and am excited to serve the community as President of the Board for 2024. I am surrounded by talented individuals who round out our Board for 2024 AB Chapter ISCEBS Board Members. If you are interested in joining us as we evolve the chapter in 2024, please reach out at ab.iscebs.gmail.com.

We have a diverse Employee Benefits and Group Pension industry in Alberta. Planning work is underway for 2024. We will offer education opportunities and are looking for ways to expand how we can better support the community such as providing in person networking opportunities. Stay tuned for updates!

Here are some resources available to you as a Society and Chapter member:

  • ISCEBSLink - this exclusive discussion forum is for Society members only. Ask questions, share insights and more. While conversation has been dominated by COVID-19, this is a great resource throughout the year. If you haven't visited before, you'll be asked to agree to the community code of conduct before you can post.
  • Information Center - you're likely tackling a LOT of different projects now. Leverage the support available to you through the Information Center. Society members have an unlimited amount of information requests they can make each year. Save your time and effort by having one of the CEBS librarians at the Society scour resources for you. Within 24-48 hours you'll have links to articles, PDFs and other documents to help provide information to your inquiry.
  • Webcasts - both nationally and locally, you're covered with current education!

Our chapter will be announcing upcoming education events - watch for updates! We are here to support our community!

Sincerely,

Rhonda Grimshire, CEBS

Alberta Chapter President
